We all carry our mobile phones with hundreds of names and numbers stored in the memory but yet nobody, other than ourselves, know which of these numbers belong to our nearest and dearest ones? In case we are ever involved in an accident, or if we had a heart attack, and the people tending to us get hold of our mobile phones, they don't know which number to call to inform our family members. Yes, there are many numbers stored, but which one is the contact person in case of an emergency?
For this reason, we must have one or more telephone numbers stored under the name ICE (In Case of Emergency) in our mobile phones. The concept of "ICE" is catching on quickly. It is simple, and an important method of contact during emergency situations.
Cell phones are carried by the majority of the population, just store the number of a contact person or persons who should be contacted during emergency as "ICE" (meaning In Case of Emergency). The idea was thought up by a paramedic who found that when they went to the scenes of accidents, there were always mobile phones with patients, but they didn't know which number to call.
He therefore thought that it would be a good idea if there was a Nationally recognized name for this purpose.
Following a disaster in London, the East Anglican Ambulance Service has launched a National "In case of Emergency "ICE" campaign. In an emergency situation, Emergency Service Personnel and hospital staff would be able to quickly contact your next of kin, by simply dialing the number stored as "ICE".
Please let others know. It really could save your life, or put a loved one's mind at rest.
For more than one contact name, simply enter ICE1, ICE2, ICE3 etc. A great idea that will make a difference!
Let's spread the concept of ICE by storing an ICE number in our mobile phones today! This was an email message that was sent to me by a very close and dear friend. This post is all about giving back and helping others!!

Connie - we just have to keep telling everyone we know and broadcast it out there. Active Rain is a great way to get information out there. Problem is, there are so many members and sooooo many posts, the one's we feel might need to be featured, just don't make it. If this helps just 1 person or saves a life, than I feel it was worth the time and effort to post it.
Along with Ice on your phone, I do hope you carry a snake bite kit. :-)
Thank Brad. I heard about this a while ago and still haven't done it. But, this is a reminder. :)
Thanks, Doreen
You are welcome Doreen - i guess a couple readers may have mis-understood my post. Their phones don't work today because they were in the freezer all night long. LOL
Linda - It's my passion, all this tech stuff, and helping others in our industry. Just like you, I love to exceed those expectations of friends, family and clients. That's why you and I are still in this business. It's because Sanderson and Andersohn love helping others, especially when it comes to owning or selling a piece of the "American Dream"!
PS. If you ever need anything for other industry related emergencies, you know my "ICE" number.
My acronym for "ICE" is ..... (I Close Escrows).... kinda cute huh? Enjoy your weekend!
Maureen, you're always welcome...nice to have a comment from you, seems it's been awhile. I owe you some too! :-) As far as my title goes, I was worried that some might think this was a "Crack" related post. I know a title is just as important as the post to get readers interested. Still figuring it all out...
Bling Bling as in Ring Ring is a cool Thing Thing! I have seen those phone blings and they are kinda cool :-)
Maureen, sorry for taking so long to respond back, some funny and crazy member posted a photography game chasing Superman through the skies of multiple cities trying to capture a front page newspaper shot with a camera that was attached to my mouse... hmmmm, you may even know her!! Geeze Brad, Now I have to re-learn how to put numbers in there!
But it's a great tip!
Great idea.I had read about it once but forgot to do it. I was in an accident and taken to trauma unit 3 yrs ago.I do not know how they got my home number but they managed to call and fortunately he was home. they would not have his cell phone number. This is an excellent idea for our farm area.I am going to use it in my next mail out.
Thanks for reminder.
Gita - I'm glad to hear you made it through that ordeal...that's scary, I hope using this information to your farm area nit only brings you much success, but hopefully will help to save a life someday! Great comment, so Thank you. :-)
Thanks Frank, I still need to add this to my own phone...you know, practice what I preach...
John - Safety First right? Thanks!
